We have been building in the South East of South Australia since 2000. Today the same family business designs and constructs everything from backyard garages to 6,400 m² commercial buildings, and still makes it all right here.

Our Story
From farm sheds to the biggest buildings in town.
Blackbird Industries began in 2000 as a family building business in Millicent, South Australia. ORIGIN STORY WORDING TO CONFIRM WITH ANDREW · DID NOT START WITH SHEDS The idea was simple: build it properly, build it locally, and stand behind it.
That approach earned us bigger and bigger jobs. Sheds and garages grew into industrial sheds and warehouses, and today we design and construct commercial buildings worth millions of dollars, with our own architects, engineering coordination, steel fabrication, precast concrete manufacturing, cranes and construction crews.
We are still family owned, still in Millicent, and still build every shed with the same welded connections and Australian steel we always have. The company grew. The standards did not move.

Where Your Building Is Made
We make what we build.
Most builders order parts in and assemble them. We manufacture: our own structural steel, our own precast concrete panels, in our own facilities in Millicent. That is why we can promise quality other builders have to hope for.
STEEL WORKSHOP · 1,200 m²Steel Fabrication
Every frame starts here.
An automated beam line and CNC plasma cutting produce every column, truss and welded connection plate, for a 6x4 garden shed or a clear-span warehouse. All of it from Australian made steel, rolled locally in the South East.
PRECAST FACILITY · 1,000 m²Precast Concrete
Our own concrete panels.
Our precast facility pours tilt-up and precast panels, including fire-rated systems, served by a 16-tonne overhead crane. Panels are made for our own projects, so quality and timing stay in our hands.
DESIGN OFFICE · MILLICENTDesign Office
Drawn here, in 3D, before anything is cut.
Our own architects, draftsmen and 3D modellers document every building with the same software used on multi-storey construction. It is how a shed customer gets plans that are right the first time, and a commercial client gets a live 3D model of their building.
OUR 120t CRANE ON SITEPlant & Fleet
Our own cranes, trucks and crews.
A 120-tonne all-terrain crane, Franna cranes, B-double and low-loader transport, and construction crews on our own payroll. Your job is never waiting on someone else's availability.
